            St. Paul's UMC parking lot on 2nd Avenue between 13th & 14th St.

6:00 - 7:30 p.m.  Walk together through Wellington Heights & Mound View

 

On May 21st (see entry below) 500 plus attended and walked!  Come on Down! This is OUR community no matter where you live in Linn County!

We served 4,700 meals 'in the rain!!'
Friday night is a big backyard barbeque in many locations! Area congregations with Serve The City are hosts providing food, games and a neighborhood atmosphere in a park or on a school campus. Saturday, June 13th

A message of faith and hope for the heartland!

Located in and around and south of the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena!

Over 20,000 attended during the day!!

Saturday is one huge community “backyard” festival! Located south of the Kingston Football stadium, and the CR Ice Arena. We are celebrating surviving and healing, thus the name Healing the Heartland Festival. The activities include a Community Barbeque, Family Fun Zone, Sports Zone, a comprehensive Community Care/Services Tent and a concert venue with bands and speakers.

 

Community BBQ

    Opens at 11:00 a.m. - closes at 4:45 p.m.

West of the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena

Hot Dog, chips, drink - $1

2,350 $1 meals served - 1,000 plus other sandwiches!

The Cedar Rapids Kernel's Baseball Stadium

Serve The City Day at the Kernel's!

 

A message of faith and hope for the heartland!

  • The Strength Team entertained a great crowd in the parking lot prior to the baseball game!

  • Multiple responses to the invite to give Jesus Lordship!

  • 315 STC tickets were sold to the game!  We had a party!

  • The NCBC Big Band playing on the concourse - a huge hit!

  • We gave a gracious welcome to the crowd from home plate!

  • Tye Male played the National Anthem on his saxophone.

  • The Kernel's won!

  • Day 3 was a very good day indeed!

This is the third Serve The City Faith Night at the Kernel’s.  Serve The City is featured in the pregame show beginning at 4:30pm.  The National Anthem and other activities will feature Serve The City individuals. Stop by the information booth on the concourse before and during the game.

“Back To School Rally"

 

Serve The City was able to serve the Back To School Rally initiative held Saturday, August 9th at the Kernel's stadium.

 

This was an amazing day!  Over 2,100 students were served with school supplies stuffed into back packs!.  A big thank you to the committee that put this together in under 8 weeks - amazing!  We have awesome people in Iowa!
